The three managing partners of DCI have over 30 years each in managing complex manufacturing and logistical projects. Located in United States and China, DCI manufactures and sources products for U.S. companies to help them become more competitive in the global market. Our highly specialized staff of international professionals have vast experience in cost reduction and quality improvement.


Peggy Martinez has more than twenty-seven years of experience in the import/export industry. Her primary area of expertise is domestic and international freight logistics. She is very familiar with U. S. Customs, air and ocean transportation, warehousing, consolidation, and distribution. She has developed very strong direct relationships with steamship companies, freight forwarders, and third party logistics providers. Her assignments for Rubbermaid, Quaker State, Pennzoil, and Shell Oil have resulted in over 50,000 container moves. The consolidation and warehousing programs she has created have benefited customers such as Wal-Mart, Kmart, Target, Costco, and AutoZone. She is an active member in the Los Angeles Harbor Transportation Club, the Foreign Trade Association, and Women in International Trade.

Doug Smith has thirty-two years of operations experience, primarily involving the Far East (mainly China) as a supply source for a wide range of consumer and industrial products. His vast experience in manufacturing processes, including plastic and metal forming, machining, electrical and electronic assemblies, and woodworking, comes from a background with both Fortune 500 companies and small entrepreneurial firms. He is acutely aware of the forces affecting U. S. companies such as Wal*Mart, Target, Costco, Auto Zone, Office Depot, McDonald-Douglas, and others in the areas of rapid product development, cost reduction, and customer compliance. Doug earned his BS in Physics and Business before obtaining an MBA and becoming CPIM-certified with APICS.
Alex Lau has thirty-seven years of experience in all aspects of Asia-Pacific supply chain management, including sourcing, supplier management, engineering support, product development, quality management and logistics. He established and managed the South Asia sourcing office for General Electric (seven years) and Asia-Pacific sourcing office for Rubbermaid (ten years). Alex’s product experience includes home appliances, lighting products, housewares, office products, toys, lawn and garden products, and commercial and industrial products, and he has extensive experience with tool design and manufacturing. He currently manages a staff of 35 professionals located in five cities throughout China (Hong Kong, Shenzhen, Shekou, Nanjing, and Shanghai) and a liaison office in Taiwan. He attended the University of Hong Kong and has B.S. and Masters Degrees in Industrial Engineering. He has also earned B.S. degrees in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering and holds an MBA.
